The connector which separates the glow plugs from the loom on top left rear of the engine has 4 terminals so could test from there, thanks for the ohms figure. I'll see if I can trace the loom back to the relay and will update later. 2002 7.3L glow plug relay questions. I have read a ton of postings but have not found an answer to my problem. I have a 2002 F250 7.3 that the GPR is not working. Here is the deal.. 1. There is only 1 relay not 2 like some describe. I have 1 close to the front by the fuel filter and the "module with 2 plugs " behind it. The glow plug module is located atop the motor not far from were a GPR would be located. It's actually a lot easier to swap out than a relay as it's a few bolts and plugs. All Cali 7.3's had the module and most X's. Have seen posts though of owners of 7.3 X's with a relay. In 10 years the X has had one relay replaced. Symptoms of a 7.3 bad glow plug control module are not many. All of them are explained below. 1. Difficult Engine Start. A difficult engine start is a common sign of defective glow plugs. Malfunctioning glow plugs cause the combustion chamber to not gain the required temperature in cold weather to ignite and start the engine. To test the relay make sure you have 12V+ to the "west" larger terminal and when the inginiton is turned on and glow "wait to start" is on the voltage (12v+) is at the "east" terminal.
